Final Turn in of Assignments

Please re-size all image submissions to lower resolution 72 to 100 dpi saved as JPG files, then submit folder mwith first initial and last name to Google drive Final folder

 Assignment 1- Painting Sphere, Cubes and Ribbon with Different Brushes- (All work can be on 1 page 11x17)

Exercise 1.- Rough Sphere with brush 175

Exercise 2.- Shinny Sphere with brush 200 (Fuzzy)

Exercise 3. Rough Cube with with brush 73 ( Wisconsin)

Exercise 4. Shinny Cube with with brush 200 (Fuzzy)

Exercise 5. Shinny Ribbon with with brush 200 (Fuzzy)

Exercise 6. Take your first 2 spheres ( rough & smooth) and paint them as a texture of your choice. You can do more if you like.

Assignment 2- Painting Sphere, Cubes and Ribbon with Different Brushes

 Create 12 material spheres based off samples provided below.


Assignment  3- Cube Textures Exercise

 Please complete 12 cube based textures applying all the layering techniques covered in the last couple exercises.


Assignment 4- Summer School - Pirate Props Paint

-Thumbnails & Finish Line sketch

- Atmospheric Tonal Dark to Light in Values

-Color ( either separate Vignette's studies of FG, MG house, Bg, and sky or 1 Finished Painting)

Assignment 5- House on a Hill

We are going to paint and environment with divided into 4 sections FG, MG, BG and Sky plane.

First we will start with the key props: a house, mailbox, fence, trees, bushes, walk way path, porch, bucket and fire wood.

Our Process- 

1. Line Drawing in Composition- get approved by Phil (thicker line up front, thinner line in the back)

2. Add in tone in Atmospheric Perspective - Dark to Light

3.Using levels start to add light and shadow direction

4.Add in color overlap with Layers, adjusting Layer to Color setting

5. Adjust colors

6. Start adding in detail, light, shadows. Keep major detail on focal point which is the house.

7 Start turning off the line to see entire image holding together. Just like when we painted the cubes!
